Tony's Uncle Dale and I went to the cemetery this evening--Memorial Day 2001--for the first time since his funeral. It was my idea--Uncle Dale isn't much to go to cemeteries. We have so many, many wonderful memories of Tony's early days of racing out of the shop in our back yard. The first three photos on this website are very fond memories to us--we were there--one is in our backyard. We all had so much fun together in those early days. I remember so well one night at Monett that I was pulling so hard for Tony to win his first feature--his closest competition was Uncle Dale. When the checkered flag flew, I was so sure Tony had won and I was thrilled! But the final results were that Dale had won the race by a FEW INCHES! I was almost as disappointed as Tony!

This is only one of the many, many great memories we have of going to race tracks in several states with Tony--as he helped Dale before he started his own career and after he and Dale became fierce competitors on the race track.

We miss him. Saunie and Dale
